What can you say about something that almost seems like it’s smarter than the map that you are holding or the directions that someone else wrote down for you? It’s an amazing invention that I have no idea how people lived without. This navigator is very compact and does not get your view at all. I was very impressed with the graphics and color. I love the fact that I can get traffic updates on it so can change my route. Great Product!

I had placed an order for the Navigon 7100 in August and received it at the end of the month. During the last month, I have been all over.... NYC, Maryland, Washington, Pennsylvania, California, etc. For most of those routes, I have had my Navigon 7100 placed and it did a good job for me. The 7100 has not at all been perfect. But its strengths far offset its weaknesses. And nearly all of my criticism consists of easy software fixes. Overall it is something that gets done almost everything it should.

Two things that completely sold me on this device: Free lifetime traffic updates
It is just a bit on the bulky side, which made me less worried that I would lose it somewhere in my car. I know for some that is a drawback, but for me, it is a plus. I've saved myself much time using this because between my city and country driving, I frequently get lost. Not happening anymore!

Returned for Slowness and POI Search
By RichieVVerified Purchaser from New York City on 7/25/2008

Cons:

Best Uses:

Bottom Line:

I ended up returning this unit because it refused to find the same POI's that are shown on it's maps. I mean, it'll show Bally's on the map and you can't find it on the POI's...huh?!? and the map updates itself very slowly within NYC streets.

I'm on the road a lot, both for work and pleasure. I've gotten used to the fact that I usually need to loop around or take an extra exit. I used to enjoy those extra lenghty rides, but now all I can think about is the rising cost of gas. I bought this so I can stop driving extra distances to just get to my destination.

Little did I know, this thing's amazing! It's just so cool what it does. That real time display thing with the actual highway signs...you just have to see it to believe it. It works wonders!

I am always getting lost when I am going on a trip. I have no idea how but I always seem to miss exits, drive 200 miles out of my way and never get anywhere on time when I am on a trip. Originally what should be a 4-5 hour drive usually turns into 18 hours of driving!

My husband bought me this as a Birthday gift and I have not been lost since! I love this thing. I have no idea how it can be so accurate but it is better than using any road map or trip tic or even using mapquest!

The face and outline is black which I like because it makes seeing the screen easy at night. The price is great for the features; I would have thought that it would have cost more.

All you do is enter in where you want to go and it tells you what to do! What a great idea for a product and especially for those people that tend to get lost!

The buttons are very small. I love the lifetime traffic extra!!!
