I bought this because of the price, Olevia is much cheaper than its competitors but still produces such a nice product. Maybe its because they don't pay as much attention on making such a nice exterior presentation? Either way, this lcdtv is much better turned on than off. When it's off, all my guests make a face at it sitting there in my living room like it's some fake or sample tv. Once I turn it on, however, they're all wide-eyed and want it for themselves. I love it just for that effect.

When I first started my search I thought this was a crazy amount of money to spend on a TV but it is defiantly worth it!

This TV is amazing. It has a great picture, the sound is amazing, and there are lots of av inputs. My kids love it because they think that there video games look better on this tv than the old one so they were sold the minute they started playing the games!

I love to watch movies with my husband and the quality of the dvds that we play is very nice. I am buying another one to put in our gameroom!

Wish I could add a rave review like the others . I am happy with PC Rush but not Olevia. Great picture but three problems with audio. 1. Drifting lip sync. Whether watching airwave digital stations or DVDs on my player, sound can be out of sync up to a second and is unadjustable w/the lip sync adjustment.
2. Shadow sound accompanying dialog ( akin to blowing on a microphone)
especially @ low vol. 3. Spontaneous reverb. Had to reboot TV to turn it off.
Twice tried contacting Olevia tech support with all info and never even an acknowledgement. It shows that reading lots of good reviews and Consumer Reports can't assure you of avoiding a lemon

This TV is great. The color quality and picture are fantastic for this price. As far as the bright LED, in the menu I found an option to turn it off. I'd definitely recommend this TV

Great TV, Great Price
By Poor College StudentVerified Purchaser from Seattle, Wa on 6/26/2007
Pros:
Sharp Image, Very cheap
Bottom Line:

This Tv is a great price and produces excellent video quality. I went to [...] and looked at the 3 series version of this in comparison to the [$] toshiba TV and liked the picture on the olevia better. Spring the extra money to get the 5 series the 2 and 3 series are the oem version. The 5 series has a universal remote, two tuners, better visual customization and a better warranty.

I researched for over a month before I purchased this LCD. I started with consumer reports and they rated this their BEST BUY.. I have read many of great reviews and went to several retailers to compare. The only two negatives that I have read was that the on screen menu was very difficult and when the tv is powered off, the led blue light is anoying. Well...the on screen menu is not bad, its like any other new item you purchase, you have to get used to it. It,s not a big deal. As far as the power off led blue light, yes, if its in your bedroom, you will see a glow in the room.. just put a piece of black electrical tape over it. That piece of electrical tape saves you hundreds of dollars. This is a GREAT LCD for the Money!!! You will NOT be dissappointed! I did a lot of research and spent hours making the decision to purchase the Olevia 537 5 series. oh, buy the way, its made here in the USA!!!!!!!!!!
