I shopped for thumb drives months ago to save files from my lousy Windows ME (just shoot ME!) Compaq PC. Out of a couple dozen brands, only the Sony Micro Vault and 1 or 2 others listed support for Windows back to Windows 2000. I bought a 4GB Sony and it moved files with no problems from the old PC to my new Sony All In One running Windows 7. Went back to the store and picked up a 32GB Micro Vault. Also worked flawlessly. Saw a Sony sale on these last month and bought a couple more that appeared to be a newer version. Still no problem moving files among (yuck!) Windows ME , XP & 7. My thumb drive experience is limited. Maybe most brands can do this. I sure couldn't tell from the other brands' packaging. If you need to hang on to some legacy equipment for a while longer, these drives will likely do the trick!
