I been checking out IP camera's for a while. I have a Geovision System that works well but needs a PC Card installed but it does work very well. I found MOBOTIX and was very interested in the Q24 because of the demos on the MOBOTIX website. I don't want to give this camera a bad review because it really wouldn't be fair. I am still getting my feet wet using it and in many ways it does work well. I bought the corner mount and the wall mount ( horizontal)and accidentally bought the wrong model …..so be careful when you order. I figured out a way to make the one I got work. I wasn't sure how high to mount the camera . I mounted it about 10 ft off the ground and then figured out it really should be higher. I am going to make the best of it and get a 100 ft patch cord and have my wife hold the camera in many locations around the outside of my house to get a feel for the coverage. I do plan on buying more cameras but not sure if it will be a Q24 or at least not in a ceiling mounting position. Wall mounted was better. The picture quality is great in Mega Pixel mode but the frame rate drops when in that mode. I do like the Mobotix operating design , I can veiw it on my MAC or My PC but don't need a PCI card to use it.
