For a very affordable projector the BenQ MX880UST is an ultra short throw projector that delivers massive output. A simple illustration of the benefits of ultra short throw is that it can throw 80" display in merely 2 feet of distance between the projector and the projector screen. At 6 feet it can throw nearly 300 inches of diagonal display. On board the MX880UST is equipped with a 5000 hour bulb if run constantly on eco mode which is nearly the industry highest. Picture quality and detail is relatively fair for a data projector, but the projector is extremely bright for how close it is directed at the screen. The projector is also 3D ready for those who are interested in handling 3D content, and is network friendly for businesses and schools. It carries 2 onboard speakers that are powerful enough to blast through the cooling fan noise. The projector isn't the loudest we've heard, but it'd be a lie to say it's silent. During operations, even on highest brightness we weren't noticing the projector in action through presentations and discussions in the room, but also perhaps because it was ceiling hung and if you were to choose to have it as a desktop set up it would be of a different result.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
When I went online searching for a short throw projector, this was what my research directed me to: MX880UST. This is got to be the ultimate short throw projector. With less than half a meter (less than 2 feet) you will get almost 80 inches of full blown display. I didn't believe it, but after reading a few reviews, I realized it was for real, I bought it right away. As I travel a lot to different schools promoting teenage awareness on drugs and teen pregnancy, many schools I've been to don't have proper AV equipment, so I was given a budget to buy a projector. When I bring this to classrooms for the first time, I literally need 3 minutes to set up and the projector is up and running and displaying a large image for the whole class to see. The image is also very clear, with stunning colors. And this projector also has enough brightness to fight classroom fluorescent light. The short throw technology also allows me to use this projector in confined rooms and also allows me to not use a mount, although you can mount it if you want to. Another cool feature about short throw technology is that you don't have to be standing in the light of the projector as most projectors need distance to project its image, with short throw you can stand behind the light of the projector and not worry about blinding yourself.
