Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I put in 2 1TB drives and setup as RAID 1. I use it mostly for music, videos, and backup. I've had several different NAS devices, and this is by far the best one I've used so far. It has an incredible amount of features and is fast. I had no difficulties setting it up and had it up and running fairly quickly, but I work with stuff like this for a living. Someone with no experience with this type of thing may have a little difficulty in getting it going. Wouldn't really recommend it for beginners.
