I purchased this lens with my HDR-SR12 camera for indoor shooting and I am very pleased with it. This is a must-have add-on to any camcorder when shooting indoors (or outdoors when appropriate). I'm not sure of the exact percentage of field of view that this adds, but it's plenty. I can confidently shoot indoor events like birthday parties (one of the main purposes of a family camcorder), weddings, interviews, etc. I also works great for hunting and fishing shooting in close quarters (i.e. boats, hunting blinds or tree stands).
