For this price versus other brands & models I've seen on the market today I think it's a great buy. I'm very happy with it. [...] Set-up was quick and very easy (about 15 minutes), love the screen, absolutely love the keyboard (very Apple/Mac-like) and so far, love the speed and responsiveness. Haven't owned a Sony before, but I'm told the quality is quite good versus other brands. Feels very solid to me. It's a little bigger and heavier than many laptops and definitely bigger & heavier than the notebook PCs out there,....but still portable and I selected this to replace my desktop, so doesn't bother me. (I do carry it with me on occasion and it's not bad) Battery life seems moderate. I didn't pay close attention, but I think I got about 2 hours 40 minutes on the battery, perhaps a little more (with primarily internet usage and nothing else). I did a little research on Antivirus programs because I didn't want to slow my system down (have been frustrated with all prior programs used)....Opted for ESET NOD32 antivirus which I found online. It gets GREAT ratings for not affecting the performance of the machine and not being annoying. So far, ...I have to say I love that too. VERY easy to install,...very "non-intrusive" and so far,..I've not had any instances at all where I've had to wait for anything because of my antivirus checker. Also, haven't noticed any annoying pop-ups. A complete scan of my hard drive which I performed after installing took about 20 minutes or less. I'm not overly impressed with the speaker sound (Too little bass for me, I like a richer sound). However, if you dig there are various settings you can play with to modify the sound (different "pre-set" equalizer settings) and it's really not that bad. For a VERY low price, you can add a very small USB-powered jlab b-flex, or Tritton Sound Bite speaker (both not audiophile quality, but both are VERY small - travel sized, VERY economical and for their size and price, their sound is really quite good). I've never written a review before,....but I really feel that this is a great computer at this price. I love mine. ....For whatever it's worth,..I hope this helps you in your decision. Good luck!
