The battery life started at roughly an hour. That's fairly low end for any laptop, but still within what one might expect. I had considered briefly replacing the battery but decided that an hour fit what I needed it for. After a few months the battery life began to substantially drop. I've now been using this since late 2007 (it's mid-2010 currently) and the battery lasts for about 45 seconds. If I want to change rooms, I need to sprint, and it's now common for me to save my work before switching.

The battery life is so low, that if the plug comes out in the back and I don't notice, the computer doesn't even have a chance to warn me that the battery is draining, it shuts off before the low battery alert comes up. This laptop is essentially a desktop because you perpetually tied to an outlet.

It's worthless for laptop, I have the Satelite L45-S4687. Lasts maybe an hour. I thought the battery was just bad and was going to replace it. Then I read these reviews, glad I did, I have to agree with them. Its just no good, no good, ....., no good.
