Ok where to start? The HX850 replaced my HX750 and the difference between the 2 TV's is like night and day. The PQ and Black levels on the HX850 are beautiful....simply beautiful. The Monolithic design of this tv is beautiful to behold and talk about a slim design? This tv has it. It also has features galore and the Super 3D is like you are "There" and part of the movie. Anyone who owns a tv like this should have it hooked up to a surround sound system. There's nothing wrong with the built in speakers but a beauty like this needs room rattleing sound. If you can still get the HX850 I suggest you get it because you WONT be disappointed...I know I aint. This is yet another masterpiece by Sony and a must have in my book.

The "internet browser" is effectively garbage! It's painfully slow and practically every website I went to failed with the following message, "page is too large to display" Several times now, the television has frozen on a channel. I had to unplug the television for 5 minutes, then when I plugged it in...all the TvGuide information was gone and it wouldn't update itself for 2-3 days.
Not such a sound investment!

I would have given this TV 5 Stars, had it not been for the dreadful sound. No amount of tinkering with the presets has any real improvements on the out-of-the-box sound setting. The additional sound bar actually makes the TV sound worse, not better. I feel genuinely cheated that Sony would put, what sounds to me like, really tinny speakers in a relatively expensive, premium product. My cheap, 5 year old Bravia sounds 5 times better than the HX850.

If your looking at this television then like me you have narrowed your choices to SONY or SAM. The HX850 was a game changer for me, stunning visual superiority, over the 7000 and 8000 models. The proof, when they say BLACK they mean it. The X-reality PRO engine has mind blowing noise suppression. Plenty of connectivity, including HDMI port 1 with an (ARC) audio return channel. Yes, you can buy televisions for less money and that's what you'll get less television, nough said.

Our 1st purchase of a 3D or smart TV and to be able to get them both and with the SONY brand behind it....My main "want " when I was looking was picture quality and the one feature I wanted was a 120 refresh rate.....after sorting through the hidden codes of all the brands...PSP or Trumotion and then to find the SONY with a 240 refresh rate, 3D and smart features....I thought the 1,099.00 price was very good...Ordered it from Sony on Thurs. night of Dec. 20th and it arrived at the house on the 24th....Hooked it up and plugged it in....Great picture right out of the box, first football game was fantastic....Amazed with the set so far and I haven't even used half of the features so far.....They even included 4 pair of SONY 3D glasses FREE...WIll defiantly get a sound bar to enhance the viewing
