Great picture and features for the money. Very disappointed in the sound. I have routed the sound through my stereo system until I find the right sound bar/theater system to purchase. The sound is so treble and tinny that if it weren't for the great picture, the set would have gone back to the store.

I have had this Television for 6 months already, the bluray movies look impecable, and even Dvd movies look awesome, The only thing about it is that the menu takes time to load it makes me feel like im with a slow computer, and I think it should have more options on picture display, the only good one is Vivid, all the other ones suck, but the problem with Vivid is that when you are watching a movie or playing a game that has a lot of red in it, for some reason it looks horrible... too much red color in the movie afects this setting and makes it look very very bad. Im thinking of buying the XBR-55HX949 instead.

The HD picture on this TV is stunning. The Superbowl was like watching little 3D people coming out of the TV. And set it to Vivid. The best setting. I have a Sony Blu-Ray player and Sony AV and they work perfectly and the Blu-Ray will switch the picture automatically. I love this TV! Best I have ever had. My brother has a Samsung which is almost exactly the same, but Sony is a touch better.
My first LED TV...and i trust...

I was told Samsung...has.great LED picture, but when i compared both the TV @ BestBuy for 10 days..i felt the picture in SONY is more real and clear than Bright sun like LED of samsung. If you have kids at home and who watch TV frequently i would suggest for SONY real picture than burning eyes with bright LED's at home. The colors are vibrant and crisp with 120Hz...since my 3D TV has 240Hz it is much more clear compare to any 120Hz LED screens. Take your time, buy what makes you more happy and comfortable... reviews are my personal thoughts...not an expert opinions. Hey finally, its worth waiting for good deals..check out online & Sony outlets.. Good luck to you..for new TV venture. Cheers, Babu

I am very up on the lastest technology and when looking to buy, I do extensive research. This television was the best for the price. Did not come with Yahoo widgets, but an update soon brought them to this model. Picture is brilliant, especially bluray in 240 Hz smooth motion. Looks like your there. Has all the internet content you would want or need. Only problem is Yahoo widgets. After an update installed about 2 months after Yahoo widget update, started having problems with widgets loading and reseting themselves to original widget configuration. Sony had no answer to the problem. Tried to say that my internet speed was too slow. I admit it's slower than they recommend, but it was not the problem. It is a software glitch that Sony has not figured out with the wireless connection. Ethernet connection works fine, but most people want a wireless connection for convenience. Very disappointed with Sony customer support on this issue. They are helpful with general questions, but when you have a large problem they are not knowlegeable and always point to customer error. Sony finally offered me my money back and I took it and bought a plasma from another manufacturer. Paid a bit more, but hopefully it will be worth it. I have always been a loyal Sony customer, but that has changed. They haven't even apologized to me about the whole ordeal. Spent many days and several hours on the phone with Sony. I have better things to do with my time. Hopefully Sony will get the Yahoo widget problem figured out. I'm sure they will with time. This television will be competely worth the price when that happens. Until then, I would buy something else.
