No, I would not recommend this to a friend
We all know that we get what we pay for so I wasn't upset at the lack of window shaking sound produced by this unit. In fact, it is a perfect solution for someone needing basic surround sound/video features without messing with 3 seperate components.
My problem is with the HDMI output. Panasonic hardware does not support HDMI cable lengths longer than 6'. Anything longer than that causes unbearable static and error messages. No support can be found on their website regarding this issue and customer service personel are even less helpful.
