Pros:
Sound, Fit, Comfort, Hold up Over Time
Bottom Line:
Yes
I've had two pair of these. Very true sound reproduction when compared to playing the music through top end audio monitors. Perhaps a bit more bass through the headphones, and I have 18" drivers in the monitors, but it is a very close match. Nice long coil cord with 1/4" jack.
A true headphone " industry-standard".. a MUST!

Up today I own about 25 headphones, and 3 of them are MDR-V6... why ? I always said and still say to my self... buy another one...before they will be superseded by a new model.... That's what happened with the 7506 and later models which, in my opinion sound not "warm" as the V6. Probably because of the new neodimium magnet (instead of the old Samarium-cobalt). True "flat" and neutral sounding, very deep Bass reproduction, focalized medium, and true WARM high frequencies... Even more they are really confortable, durable ( my older one -1989- is still PERFECT) moderate weight, fold-up design with a nice leather bag, classic nice shape and a long-strong twisted "oxygen-free" copper chord... If you need something more...you may probably need to spend more than 200$. An "historycal" but still present "Industry -Masterpiece".....

I've had these headphones for ages now and finally changed the ear pads out. Not sure why i waited so long to change them out but it had made them comfortable to wear for hours at a time. Before with the Old Stock pads i would start to have ear pain after just 20 minutes of use. Dang i love these headphones even after 15+ years of use.
Listen to music the way its meant to be heard.

I've owned a pair for a year & a half. These headphones can make you hear sounds in your music which you never thought existed. The resolution of different instruments is nothing short of amazing. There's no extra punch in the bass and you'll get to hear the clear tight bass only where the musician intended you to (i.e. high quality precise bass). Be it techno, metal, classic or jazz, you hear the sound the way it was made. But be clear with the concept that these are not magic headphones !!!! You only get to hear what you input. So, if you play low bitrate music files, you get to hear low quality sound. But play FLAC or 320 kbps mp3 files and you get to hear sounds from heaven (BE CAREFUL!! You could die from sheer pleasure :D) The only bad thing, as I mentioned in the beginning, is the original earpads. Mine got worn out within the first year. Then I bought the Beyer Dynamic Velour Earpads, which actually doubled the hearing pleasure. My advice would be to buy the Beyer Dynamic earpads as soon as you buy the headphones and replace the original ones.

Cons:
Looking for new ear cups, mbr v6
After out living several sterio componet systems, walkman's, diskman's and mp3 players, these are still my prefered headset. Looking for ear cup replacements. (Old ones still serviceable, just look ratty.) gaw
