Decent sound. Break easily.

These sound great for the average listener. They're balanced pretty well as far as Bass-Mid-High goes, and they sound WAY better than the standard-issue iPod earbuds. At a price of $20-$30 depending on where you buy, you really can't beat them. However, you are also getting what you pay for as far as durability goes. I've gone through two sets in as many years because I travel a lot and these headphones don't travel well at all. For the record, they are called, "Studio" headphones, but I like to use them as much as I can because they're the best set of headphones I own. The plastic headband has been the problem both times, cracking right above the ear cup. If they would just fold up, I would still be on my original pair, but again they are only $20-$30. Another issue, which I guess is a plus for most people, is that the cord is so long. I overcame that by just leaving it curled in the twist-tie that it comes in, and I could adjust the length as necessary. I guess in the end, it's better to have the cord available than unavailable. So there you go. Decent Price. Decent Sound. Not made for travel.
Best affordable studio headphones

Pros:
Affordable Price, Durable, Long thick cord, Sound
Cons:
The highs needs to be little more brighter.
I have been using these Sony headphones for 7 years and they sound great. I use to use them when I goto the store or other places with my mom but now I use them when I goto the library, or when I' am at home, etc by myself. I do use them to listen to my music, playing video games, etc on my computer. They do have very clear sound and good bass, mids and highs like big studio or stereo speakers. Overall these headphones are pretty flat response so you can use them in the recording studio. I do wish that the highs were little more brighter though but for $20 they are great. When I put these headphones on for couple hours I do take them off since they start to feel kinda hot at times. They only hurt if I put them on wrong like I have to make sure the earpads are placed right on my ears so they don't put pressure on one area too much.Sony has been making these headphones since 1999 so for the price these headphones must of been popular since then. I did get them around 2004 and they still work good as new since I take care of my stuff.

Pros:
AWESOME sound for the price, can handle loud volume
Cons:
gets uncomfortable after an hour or so, Sounds a little swashy at high volumes
So I've had two pairs of these, one for about a year and the other for over 3 years. Aside from the ear cup cover falling off once (easily fixed), nothing has gone wrong with these. I'm a bit of an audiophile and I'm rather impressed with the sound quality. I use the for listening to music and also for mixing and recording music. I should probably get better headphones, but these work pretty well. My only problems are that they do get a little swashy sounding at high volumes (or is it just my ears), but me, as a drummer, when I say high volume, I mean louder than anyone would ever listen to them. Even me. Also, the ear cups start to irritate the ears after an hour or two, and the fit might be a little tight for some people, but I like it. Altogether, couldn't be a better deal for the price.
one of the best pairs of headphones i ever had
