I love scanners and really make them work for me when I am using them. I would rather a scanner that I own live up to its name and work as hard as I do instead of just giving it a few tasks a day. I put this compact scanner to work and it did twice the amount of work I in the half the time of my old scanner. How could I ever go back and say anymore than that! I was very impressed on the quality as well as how easy it is to operate. I’m not someone that has the technical skills that some scanners require so I as pretty excited when I could actually figure out how to work it on my own! Yes, I would recommend this to anyone!
A little too pricey, but worth it

It is doing the job that we got it to do and it is doing it very very well. I can't really complain at all. We are getting really good quality. I wasn't happy spending so much on a scanner, but in the end it has been worth it. Now if in the next model they can make it a bit faster, I'll really be happy.

Right after buying, I got the windows vista drivers from the official website of hp because the CD provided doesn’t work for vista. Once the download was complete, the scanning started immediately. There was no jamming throughout the process. I am a casual user so can’t say anything with distinction about the dpi quality control – but I’ve found it good so far.

It works GREAT! This is EXACTLY the solution I have been looking for since I started scanning in all my paper documents about 5 years and many failed hardware/software solutions ago. The only issue I have noticed is that when a jam occurs is that the ADF gets into a wierd state where it thinks that there is no paper in it even though there paper there. The fix: unplug/plug in (not turn off) the scanner and let it reinitialize. This could explain why some people think the ADF is "broken". The HP-supplied software will produce pdfs, but of generally poor quality compared to what the scanner can do driven from Acrobat. The problem is trying to get a scan of both sides of the paper from the ADF. Maybe there is some other driver that would work, but I haven't been able to find it yet. The document feeder has not jammed often and is incredibly quick compared to my old machine.

This scanner is fairly nice. More than what I expected. Usually small/compact scanners aren't very good, but I was proven wrong by this one. +5
