Pros:
Earphone Jack, Great FM/AM Reception, High quality sound
The Sony ICF-S10MK2 Pocket AM/FM Radio is the consumer electronics industrys best performing pocket radio. It has a flawless design, implementation, and reception of analog radio broadcasts. I enjoy listening to this pocket radio just as much as any larger portable item in my personal radio assortment. The Sony ICF-S10MK2 pocket radio offers two distinct listening options. A formidable built-in 2 inch monaural speaker provides big booming sound on FM stations. The Sony radio provides clear, well defined, and distinct voice quality for my favorite talk radio programs on the AM band. The audio quality emitted from the built-in speaker is on par or of better quality than many larger portable radios that I have heard in my experience. The built-in speaker provides depth and clarity of sound without distortion. A convenient earphone jack is provided on the left side of the radio for any occasion when a private listening session is desired or needed. FM and AM tuning quality is a breeze with the units thumbwheel style tuning control. The LED tuning indicator lights up in bright red when a station in tuned in accurately or locked in. Station drift is not an issue with this Sony pocket radio as I never feel the need to retune the dial once the LED indicator is lit. This Sony pocket radio is always there for me when I want to listen to the ballgame or a newscast when I cant be near a TV. The telescopic FM whip antenna and built-in AM ferrite bar antennas enable this portable radio to offer exceptional sensitivity and selectivity in station reception across the FM/AM radio bands. I am also able to receive out-of- market AM stations on most nights when clear atmospheric conditions are present. The Sony ICF-S10MK2 pocket radio offers high performance battery life. The Sony pocket radio is powered by 2 AA batteries that are difficult to deplete. It is a rare event when the Sony pocket radios batteries need to be replaced. The super high performance features offered by this Sony pocket radio are as follows: analog tuning dial, FM/AM dial scale, LED station lock indicator, FM/AM band reception, FM/AM band selector switch, dual function volume control/power switch, built-in speaker, earphone jack, FM telescopic whip antenna, built-in AM antenna, carry strap, and battery compartment. Lastly, the Sony ICF-S10MK2 pocket radio offers great build quality, compact size, and performs admirably in tough operating environments. Good Luck. Enjoy.

This little radio reminds me of the old "transister" radios we had when I was a kid. Same size, but much better quality in both the construction and sound. I had been seaarching for a small porable radio to mount on my mobility scooter, this is perfect.

Even though this is a small unit, it picks up all the out of town stations that my larger tabletop radio gets. You have to turn the dial very slowly or you'll skip right over distant stations. It also has plenty of volume for it's size.

For the dollars spent this radio is fantastic. A while back I paid $20 for some off brand to keep in my car glovebox. It would always drift and never stay on the station and the volume control was so touchy; it was either loud or quite. Someone told me about this one and I took a chance and am sure glad I did. I can shut it off for a week and when I turn it back on it is on the same station still. Build quality good as well as looks and sound.
