Sleek design & awesome picture display w/calendar
By SushiGirlVerified Reviewer from Santa Clara, CA on 1/19/2011
Pros:
Um...it's a frame AND a printer. Different options to display digital photos
Cons:
Unique Sony paper only & ink sold seperately

I got the frame as a gift, and my original thought was, oh another digital frame (I already have one I don't use) but then I set it up, it quickly became my favorite gaget! The pictures are really clear on the display, it gives you an option to display a clock and a calendar next to the picture and printing is easy with the remote control. It prints quickly, although the first 2 pictures printed with 2 slight discolorations on the face, but that may be just the color calibrations? I printed a desktop calander which was easy to do and i absolutely..LOVE IT! The reason for not giving 5 stars on overall rating is the paper availability. I couldn't find it at Best Buy, and the Sony Style store say they dont carry it. Where do you go for more paper? Oh, FYI...the product doesn't come with ink. You need to buy the ink seperately with the paper. That's kind of annoying.

Nice Photo Printer and Frame Combo
By AnonymousVerified Reviewer from Simi Valley, CA on 4/20/2010
Pros:
All-in-one photo printer and frame, good color (after calibration)
Cons:
A little bulky than expected, didn't have all the software features from DPP-FP97, weird one-rod stand

This is my first digital photo frame and my first photo printer. I was looking for a portable photo printer with reasonable price so that I print pictures at home rather than go to photo labs for small quantity prints. I compared this with Canon Selphy CP780 and Sony DPP-FP97 and decided with this purchase due to better use of space and larger lcd. Color from printing is good after calibration (I used Gretag-Macbeth Eye-One). Make sure you don't loose the remote control, it's handy to have. One example is after formatting the internal memory and transferring pictures from my computer to the frame, I couldn't have slideshow. It turned out that I had to press the slideshow button on the remote control or later I found out, I could have press the "play button" from the "select device" menu if I used the keypads on the frame. I wished the size is a little less bulky. But on the plus side, I don't need to use the weird one-rod stand, the frame is steady enough to stand horizontally. The photo software features, I think, are less than in DPP-FP97, I wished Sony had given all the features from DPP-FP97 to this product. Overall it's a good purchase.
