this camera came highly recommended from a coworker. he showed me the model he's had for a couple years and it has a nice dent in the metal casing from when he dropped it onto a rock.
things i like from what i've seen of his:
-slim enough to be a pocket camera
-swivel screen for taking shots at odd angles (like above my head)
-keep the screen closed to conserve battery power
-since the screen is closed when it's in your pocket you can't scratch it
-built in 'lens cap' means no screwing around with a lens cap, losing it, or having it fall off and get your lens scratched
-AA batteries. don't have to hunt down a $35 replacement battery a year and a half from now
-metal casing so it can take a few dingers
-quick startup time to go from pocket to snapping shots
