We chose the SD1100 because it has a viewfinder which is a must for many outdoor uses. Unfortunately the first camera had about a 10 degree skew in the viewfinder. This would make the horizon, if viewed flat in the viewfinder, be tilted 10 degrees in the actual photo. The second camera had a much smaller skew, but was not centered horizontally with the actual photos. This we could live with as the actual photo is larger that the viewfinder shows, so nothing is lost.
Still a great casual use camera.
