Pros:
Easy to use, Sleek, Small
Cons:
Grip is somwhat awkward
I bought this little gem and the next day left for a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas. Once I learned how to hold it (please read the manual) it was a pleasure to wander the ship and ports recording video and stills interchangeably. There is no image stabilization at 1080p, but if you are going to burn the images to DVD at 720p why use the higher resolution. I'm still experimenting with this. The performance in bright daylight was stunning and the low light performance was quite adequate. Audio is mono and adequate. A flash of some sort would be wonderful for low light stills. Of course, like all cameras with LCD view screens, if the sun is at you back it's like shooting with your eyes closed, especially if you're wearing polarized sunglasses. I wish one of Sony's geniuses would come up a solution to this. There is a face recognition feature that I haven't fussed with yet. In summary, where I used to carry a backpack with the DSLR and the Camcorder and assorted cables, I now slip the MHS-CM5/V into my pocket and go.

Cons:
works bad in low light, zoom junk
Hate it but I guess I am stuck with it. I wish I had never bought it and I hope someone reads this review and does not make the same mistake I made in purchasing it. You have to be outside to use it as it doesn't work in room light settings. Zoom doesn't zoom in it only zooms out. When Zoomed all the way in its normal not closer. I hate it not working inside the most.

Cons:
I agree; the right specs. are illusive; shouldn't have to read maual to find.
For example; the link that led me here, says the lens is 5x optical- 20x zoom. another seller says 4x digital only. Also; is it a web cam as the name webbie or bloggie implies?
