I reviewed many other brands of portable radios before purchasing this one and was not disappointed. The other brands at the price of the Sony do not have many of the features this has. I wanted specifically a FM radio, cassette player and cd player, the CFD-SO5 had everything and more. The sound quality is very good for a small compact portable radio. The reviewers who labeled the sound quality as a "Con" should remember what you paid for, if you want concert sound quality you have to pay for it, for what this radio was designed for the sound quality is excellent. Sony AM/FM, cassette-Corder, CD player for under $50 is a great buy.

Digital tuning gets rid of station fade in radio mode. Clear audio in tape or cd mode. This is a good compact combination player-recorder (from radio or cd to tape), one of the few left on the market that will play cassettes, and I still have many that I like to play. It will replace a similar machine that I have almost worn out after about 10 years.

I rarely write reviews and I also rarely buy refurbished products, but I bought this refurbished CD/Cassette player and am very satisfied with the purchase that I had to review it. It was on sale for just $19.95 plus tax, a very good deal. Packaging was very simple with lots of bubble wrapping to protect the product. You don't need to read the user guide to use the player. I just took the player out of the box, connect the power cord, and easily figured out how to use the player on the spot. It's very intuitive and easy to learn to use. The first thing that struck me is its small size when I took it out of the box. I was half expecting a huge player because my mom owns a huge Sony CD/Cassette player as well. This one is about small-medium size and lightweight with a carrying handle to take on the go for ultra portability. I love it. A desktop printer probably takes up much more space than this player. I tested the radio, cassette, and CD playing features and they all work as expected. Truly 5 stars and especially for the price paid.

This radio is exactly what i was looking for. great sound at an affordable price,added bonus i didn't know,i could also plug in a mp3 or ipod. awesome. you won't go wrong with this product for the price.
