Nuvi is Groovey
By Frank CVerified Reviewer from Houston TX on 12/31/2008
Pros:
Accurate, Quick Navigation
Best Uses:
In Car
Describe Yourself:
Power User
How are you with directions:
Bad w/Directions
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

If it were the 70's and GPS was around, this one would be groovey. Garmin, in my opinion, is a step ahead of other GPS. I tour around the country for work and having a reliable GPS makes the job a lot easier. No more hunting around for locations, and frankly asking people for directions is a pain. So far, 100% accurate.

Comact and full of knowledge!

Pros:
Accurate, Extensive Base Map, Intuitive Menu, Large Screen, One Hand Control, Quick Navigation, Quick Signal, Reliable Reception
Best Uses:
Hiking, In Car, Jogging

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This navigator also acts as a picture viewer, MP3 player, world clock, currency converter, and measurement converter & calculator all in one. It sits right on your windshield.

The screen is very easy to read and does not take up a lot of room nor does it interfere with your view of what’s most important the road!

The audio is very clear so you don’t have to worry about not being able to understand the directions.

The battery only has a 4-8 hour life but if you have a car charger with you can easily recharge while driving.

We have also used it on hikes when we camp and we are very happy to report that no one got lost this year!

All in all this really has helped us get to our destination and we are eager to let everyone know.

I travel a lot and was in the market for an easy to use GPS system that gets down to what it's supposed to do without being burdened with so much technology and frills that it locks up and leaves you with nothing more than an ugly paper weight.
Following the hype, at first I was looking at the Tomtom 910, but quickly found from other reviews that the 910's most common compliant was that is locks up frequently and has poor tech support. Those are pretty big red flags so I stayed away from the 910.
Well the Garmin name quickly stood out as the number one leader in all categories. A leader in the GPS market, they are fast, easy to use, have a bright screen, accurate and a great value; are just the beginning of the excitement and value you will experience with the Garmin nuvi 350. I'm amazed at how well this product works. Straight from the box, all you do is turn it on, type the address where you want to go (actually all you do is start and it finishes it for you), hit go and you're off. That's all there is to it! It will even tell you the name of the street to turn on before you get to it -- very handy when coming to a crowded intersection. Compact with a large screen, it's easy to take it with you in its leather carrying pouch so you don't have to worry about someone breaking into your car to take it. I saw in other reviews that some felt the audio volume was too weak. They must be driving tanks or their head out the window because mine has plenty of volume. I have mine set at about 3/4 of the volume and it's plenty loud enough to hear over the radio. Would I recommend this product to others? Hands down YES. I told my brother about the Garmin nuvi 350 and he want's one too. If you are looking for a reliable GPS system, this is it. Go with the Garmin nuvi 350.
