Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
We bought this for use in the U.K. where we will be living for the next three years. From our initial use we are very happy with the units performance. While it does not contain all the whistles and bells of the more expensive units, it's capabilities are more than adequate for the casual user. Great user interface and fast satellite acquisition. Con: The advertising for the unit implied it would do post codes in the USA, CANADA and UK. But this is only partially true, it will do post codes in Canada but not the USA and UK. I would have really liked to have the post code capability in the UK as there are towns with the same name located within a 50 mile radius in many in areas of the U.K.
