This is a great scanner for documents to be converted into PDF.Very easy to setup and easy to use. Being that it is refurbished, I needed to run it a few times before the rollers would work nearly flawless.As for photos? I do professional work and my older flatbed is much better for high end stuff.

I was concerned about this item being a refurb. Before ordering I called Fujitsu and spoke with one of their techs and she verified Fujitsu does the refurb. Only downside is 90 day warranty versus 1 year on a new one. There is a refurb sticker on the scanner and says you can purchase post warranty coverage and to call Fujitsu for information. PCRush offers a SquareTrade warranty for $25 and the sales rep told me I could purchase it within 30 days of purchase. This also is not the current model but the differences are minimal. When it arrived today I was surprised to see the shipping box had Fujitsu printed on it and when I opened the box it was packed like a factory new unit and definitely an excellent factory refurb. Looked new with no blemishes on it anywhere. Everything mentioned on the PCRush website was included. PCRush also stated Adobe 8 Standard for Mac was not included with this refurb unit and it was not. There was also a letter in the box from Fujitsu stating "For contractual reasons, Acrobat cannot be supplied with the ScanSnap for the Macintosh Refurbished scanner you have purchased". There were no surprises with this purchase. The scanner works great. If you want to use this with Snow Leopard you can download the Version 3 ScanSnap software from the the Fujitsu web page. [...] If you want a very fast scanner for archiving documents, scanning to email, OCR or scanning to a printer this is the one you should buy. You can\'t beat the price compared to a new one as it is less that half the cost.
