A:
A printhead is an element of a printer that applies mark to the paper. An ink cartridge is a replaceable component that contains the ink. Sometimes an ink cartridge comes with the ink and the printhead itself.
Mfr no. C4900A(HP 940 Black and Yellow Printhead), is the printhead only, without the cartridges and is compatible with HP 940 Officejet ink cartridges.
To answer the question, the number of pages that can be printed is determined by identifying the cartridge model, not the printhead model.
In selecting the correct cartridge, please be able to identify the officejet printer model on which the cartridges will be used.
Yield information can be found on the product specifications under each HP Officejet series page. Please go to www.hp.com and search for Officejet Pro 8000 and Officejet Pro 8500 where the result will show you a list of compatible ink cartridges.
