Two calls to Canon and this beauty still won't print. Canon is quick to say it's Apple's fault, and Microsoft's too. As long as the printer prints a test page, they say they're not responsible and that Apple needs to get it's act together.

Clean, crisp printing. No paper jams to date (although we have only had the printer for a couple of weeks). It is used as a network printer and unfortunately the settings of the last person who uses the printer await the next user. Fortunately, the default button in the print menu resets the printer to portrait and 2-side printing. My wife loves the 2-side printing and I must admit it is very easy to select other printing options from the print menu. We have three people using this printer and all of us like it.

Canon products rarely disappoint, and this printer is no exception. Nice networking capabilities, quick to print, default duplexing to save paper, cheap (remanufactured) toner carts with drums are great; energy efficient sleep settings make sense for utility savings. I did take some time to set the network address but with that done, this is a capable workgroup printer. The on-sale price really sealed the deal. I am very happy with this purchase, which was quickly shipped and well-packaged.

Very nice printer. Thsi printer is super fast with sharp text and good graphics.

The default network settiing requires an IP address be entered manually for the printer. This means that, sadly, you can not just plug in the printer into your network and start the set up process.

The printer can be set up to receive an IP address from a DHCP server via the on screen menu easily.

Once the IP address has been obtained or entered, the set up program will install the supplied Windows drivers easily. Mac/Linux users must download the drivers from the Canon web site.

The 4 star rating is due to the relatively high cost of the replacement toner and not due to a lack of printer performance or quality.

Great small office or home printer if you don't need color. We print about 100 pages/day and this printer is perfect for that amount of printing.

The default network setting is to manually be given an IP address, not to automatically obtain it from the DHCP server. This means you can't just plug the printer into your local network and go.
