No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The color is sharp. It was a great upgrade from my Color Laserjet 4550CN model.However when printing from certain programs, it takes an extremely long time to spool the print job to the printer and in most cases, it never prints the job. When it does start to print, it is a job with print/font "symbols" at the top of the page. This continues to print until all paper in bin is used or the power is shut off.
