This is by far the best television I have ever owned and it lot's of fun to watch and play with as it has many streaming apps and internet features. The picture is perfect straight out-of-the-box! I have done no picture adjusments. The sound for such a thin TV is also superb as it is supplied with three 10w speakers. This TV has dynamic edge lighting so the contrast is perfect and the unit is solidly built with all glass front and metal-casing back. I have it wall mounted but comes with a beautiful black-brushed metal stand. The tuner is fast, the graphics and user-interface are slick. I wish it had a better remote but it is solidly and uniquely designed just the same. Overall, this is a stunning TV that I am proud to own and brag about! Bravo for this Bravia!

This is a great 2D TV, but if you are looking to buy it to watch 3D movies, look else where. I love the 2D, HDTV, but cannot get pass the flickering 3D experience. The active shutter technology adjusts the glasses to match with 3D video and it has a long way to perfect it. The brightness, contrast and color change is quiet noticeable. Plus do not forget $50 or more for each 3D glasses. My advice- for 3D passive technology is the King. Otherwise, great TV.
Comments about Sony BRAVIA KDL-55HX820 LED-LCD TV:
This Sony TV has exceeded 100% of my expectations. Though the NX series of Bravia TV's may not be the premium "Flagship" series like the HX Bravia's, I have to say, the price is right. I've seen a review on here where a guy has issues with the picture with its dark and black colors. Let me tell you something the Blacks can't compare to a plasma, but otherwise, the Blacks look PRISTINE. There are SIMPLE fixes for his or her issues. 1._Watch it in a darker area/room!! Too much light can diminish or alter the appearance of black colors on the screen. 2._One can adjust the picture/color/shading quality of the TV to improve its appearance. easily. **HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE** -15.6 GBps HDMI cables. (cheap 10.2-11 GBps HDMI cables suffer with lag problems, and can't deliver immaculate picture. Any video games will NEED this for seamlessly smooth picture, especially for online play) -SONY 3D glasses are preferable, though other brands DO work. Sony 3D glasses are also just easier to set up, use, charge, and, for the most part, more comfortable to wear. (Samsung is a good alternative though)

Comments about Sony BRAVIA KDL-55HX820 LED-LCD TV:
This TV has excellent picture quality but is lacking in the sound department because of the rear facing speakers. Anyone who does not connect it through a surround system will be disappointed. I have it connected to a Bose surround sound system so I was able to overcome this issue.

Comments about Sony BRAVIA KDL-55HX820 LED-LCD TV:
The HX820 is a GREAT TV. It is the sexiest TV I've ever seen. The design is excellent. The internet features are better than just about any other TV on the market. The energy use is minimal for how large of a screen this is. My old 32" Sony used as much energy as this 55". The picture quality is great, not the absolute best picture quality in the TV world, but it's better than anything near this price point. Like many people interested in this TV, I was interested in the NX720 and HX929. I'm glad I got this TV over the alternatives because it has better performance than the NX720 and is sexier than the HX929 due to the HX820's super thin profile. Plus, it was less expensive than the XBR by a good chunk of change. The 3D is decent, and is one of the main reasons why I initially considered this TV. The amount of 3D content currently available is a definite downer. Luckily more and more content is coming to the marketplace, so it's a good future proof TV. Overall, I would say buy this TV if you want a well designed TV with great picture, 3D capability, internet streaming, low energy use, and lots of other extra cool features.
