I read a lot of reviews and watched a number of You Tube BofA on the set prior to purchasing and I have to say aside from, the somewhat difficult set up, I love this TV. Pictures is flawless in my amateur opinion and the features are cool too. A great value in my opinion.

Sony's announcement of 2012 models doesn't mention a 40" 3D set. If that is the case, this is the one to buy at model closeouts before it's gone. The only adjustment I needed to make is the black levels were set too dark but otherwise the picture is awesome out of the box. The remote is easy to use and I like the friendly and informative on-screen help system.

I bought it on April 2011, I was getting error - continuously - "Content Error", I worked with Comcast - Internet service provider based on Sony Customer care advise, no issues from Comcast, I raised my voice around 5-6 times to Customer care, so they replaced my TV with refurbished one - given 1 yr more warranty , this TV is not giving any errors like that, every thing is good and working fine now, I compared other new TV's the Apps Sony providing is easy to access, with no time we can just enter in to any App, Youtube search, Netflix search, HULU all are very fine, when I compared to other brand - I felt the sound should be improved a bit, Picture quality is computable, Outlook of the TV is not matching with the performance - compare competitor , should mix with other colors in the outlook like steal or Gold or metal , I am happy after exchange with no extra cost and extra warranty. given a chance I want to change the just frame or some thing so it looks good even when you switch off the TV.

I bought this television before the whole 240/120 hz question started. I was not happy regarding the perceived false advertising of Sony. Still not thrilled about it, but I can't complain like some. The picture has been fantastic since I made the purchase in March. No ghosting or washed out picture. I haven't tried the 3d feature.yet so I can't discuss it; but Netflix, Amazon VOD and HuluPlus were easy to set up and work very well. As someone else stated the lack of a qwerty keyboard on the remote is a pain and it would have been a nice addition. My 14 year old son loves the PS3 gameplay. Also as simple as plugging in the HDMI cord and adjusting settings. All in all a very satisfying purchase.

Just ignore previous comments it is just a very good TV. I watched 3d movie which came with package and I found no ghosting effects or double images etc....while watching directly from the blu ray player. I am not sure about 3d quality from 3d TV channels as I don't have that.

This television has a phenomenal picture quality, was very easy to set up (the prompts were very helpful) and I purchased it from a locally owned dealer here in Grand Rapids MI for an excellent price (better than the big box stores). The set up of the stand to the tv was quick and easy, although some of the screws were a hex (tool was included) and some were a phillips, would have been easier if they all were hex but it was still quick and easy. Also, the stand was very sturdy. The set up menu was easy although it took about 15-20 minutes from start to finish. I do not have cable or satellite. I use over the air signal and enjoy the HD signal from all four of the local broadcast networks. I feel the picture is clearer than that of cable or satellite (just my perception though). With in about 20 minutes the onscreen television guide had populated with logos, show descriptions and associated information which is nice. I am a subscriber to Netflix, HuluPlus and Pandora One. All these services work great with my home network and the navigation, while not AS easy as on my computer, was intuitive and easy. My only negative feeling towards this is when I tried to enter the required text for setting up the internet apps and the quick whirl on the internet. This is because the remote was not designed with QWERTY keypad. This would have been a nice addition from Sony and I would have gladly paid en extra $100 or so for it. With the exception of the remote, I am 100% happy with my purchase and would quickly recommend it to friends and family.

i just received this yesterday and wow..the picture has so many settings options to play with and i can switch in seconds from my tv settings to gaming on the ps3 which i also noticed a HUGE difference in, gameplay is more fluid and way more detailed.i also noticed a big difference in tv quality i have dish w/o hd but still made a noticeable difference you wont be dissapointed.
