I went back and forth on this TV and the SONY 60NX720,but after reading the reviews and talking to several Sony reps I decided to go with this model, and boy am I GLAD i did !! Great picture in 2d or 3d, got a great bundle deal with 4 pairs of 3d glasses and the SONY 780 3d surround sound system and wall mount and install and Harry Potter I and II in 3d for less than the cost of the TV`s original price. So Merry Xmas to me thanks SONY for a super great deal and great TV!

I had this Sony KDL55HX729 for a little over a month and it worked great. Love the picture the everything about the tv. Then one day i turned it on and every 30-40 seconds it would just just off for about 3 seconds then turn back on. Did this 3 times and on the 3rd time it would just turn off the tv all together. Called sony and they said I need a service tech to look at it. I called P. C Richards and Son's where I bought it because I have the extended warranty on it through them. I feel it will need to be replaced because when I was on the phone with Sony we did everything possible to re-boot the tv and it still did the same. Also when I went to use the tv remote it comes with this too wasn't working not sure if this is do to the tv shutting down every 30-40 seconds. Will do a follow up when service comes out in a few days. I still recommend this tv to buy I may just have a bad lemon. Sony makes a great product owned several Sony's and never had an issue until now.

Tv Looks great , I just replaced my 52" SONY projection,it had video 1,2,3,and 4 on it plus s-video connections, wish the HX729 would have too.Sound not greeat but hooked up to my sony 3D blu-ray dvd/tuner helps sound quality , will look at sound barHave a 32" Sony in kids room great pic there to

I previously had a 40 inch Kdl-XBR40 Bravia from several years ago. That display is still stunning but it was a little small for the living room so I bought the HX723 55 inch. As soon as I removed the box, I knew this television was going to blow me away. After tuning the picture for about an hour I was able to reveal the true potential of this beautful television. I primarily use this television for video games such as Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Warhawk, and LittleBigPlanet 2. Every one of the games looks absolutey fantastic. I think the price of this television is a great deal for what you get in the box compared to some other televisions for much more. I will be using this television for a long, long time!

Was torn between the Sony Bravia KDL - 55HX729 and the Samsung UN55D8000 - Now that we have the TV home - we are so glad we went with the SONY! If you are on the fence and trying to decide and if you are a movie lover, this is the TV for you. I recommend getting a 3D Blu Ray player and Monster Cables - YOU WONT BELIEVE YOUR EYES. Glad I chose this 3D HDTV - wish I had seen the reviews before but glad i made the choice. thanks to the BestBuy salesman who advised the Sony TV was a better TV - I now see why!
You Won't Be Sorry!

I have always bought Sony products. I had a 46inch Xbr3 which went out on me after 5yrs. While planning on getting it fixed, I decided to buy a new TV. Since I was upset with Sony I bought a 60in Sharp. The Sharp television was horrible. After Calabrating the tv it still did not look good. After one night playing with it I returned it and went back to Sony. The HX 729 is gorgeous right out of the box, no need to calibrate it. Ready to view out of the box with colors that just pop out at you.
