Highlights for Paxton Access Net2 High Speed Repeater Marketing Information
The maximum length for a RS485 dataline is 1km. Using a repeater on the dataline allows it to be extended further. Each repeater extends the maximum overall dataline length by 1km. A maximum of five repeaters can be used on a single dataline.
The repeater can also be used to allow branching of the dataline. Where the repeater is installed the dataline may be continued in two directions if required (see illustration below). For some applications this will reduce complexity and save on cable.
