I have had two LQ570 and now have two LQ590 Impact printers. They are by far the best and longest lasting printers I have ever owned. Do not hesitate to buy. You will never be disappointed.

Used every day for years. It simply goes and goes. Outlasts other printers 10x. We replace the printhead every 2 years when it wears out.

I purchased this printer, July 1991, and I can tell you, I LOVE MY PRINTER !! I would never ever change it for a printer that has cartridges! I recently went to purchase a USB cable for it, and the manager wanted to purchase it from me. He said, it looked like I had just taken it out of the box. I take very good care of it, and put a plastic cover on it, everynight when I shut off my pc.

We bought this printer to replace one of the same model. This is the third one of this model the company has bought. The printer works great and over time the others have stopped working after long use. Since the company is in a rural area, buying a new one is faster than getting one worked on. The comment we wish to make is that the new one squeaks while printing. This does not seem to make a difference with the printing but it is noticeable and makes one believe that it is having a hard time printing. The concern is whether or not this is going to have an impact on the long term performance of the printer. However, we have been using this printer for about a month and it is wonderful.

11-05-09 The Epson LQ-590 is the best impact printer I have ever purchased. For speed, quality and clarity, the 590 has out-performed the Odaka, or any other line in ease of loading, print speed, and quality. I handles the standard paper or tractor load with amazing results. Another great attribute of the LQ-500 is the cost of trhe replacement ink cartidges making it affordable, easy to operate and maintain. I would give give it a 5-start(of 5) rating if a tractor/impact printer is what you're looking for! Prof Bill Bramscher, Retired

Epson always makes an impressive product so I wasn’t surprised when I got this home and out of the box how easy it was to set up, and test. It was very easy to set up, the test page printed right out. I bough this as a Christmas present for my daughter and she hasn’t stopped printing! The quality of the prints are very good, even the photographs that she likes to print of her and her friends. I was also surprised how light it was compared to what you think when you first see it. I was able to lift it without any back pain and I know that is important to some of you.

It's a much better solution than a laser or inkjet in a dirty auto garage setting. It's great for printing receipts, and the non-tech savvy folks in the shop have no problems changing ribbon or clearing jams.
