Ever since small cameras have come out with very affordable pricing the market has been hot. Sony definitely did it right with the bloggie series. I just got my camera yesterday so I can't speak to it to much but my initial thoughts are good. The camera is lightweight and perfect for sticking in your pocket, backpack, purse, etc. The flip out lcd screen is great and gives you clear feedback. So far the video is very clear, and this camera couldn't be easier to use. One button for taking pictures, and one button for recording video. The cons are the lens cover seems to pop off very easily. So if you are stashing the camera without a case, make sure you check it. The camera does not film with the screen closed, so don't fall while filming. Also the stabilization doesn't work for 1080p only for the 720p. However these problems are not that big of a deal for a HD camera for only $200. So far I would suggest getting this camera, its travels well, and does a awesome job.

Having been a big fan of Sony cameras , this being my forth plus owning a few other sony products. I can't help but feeling let down by theMHS PM5. I have windows vista 32 bit. The PMB software does not even support it's own media file type. I have always been good at fixing all the bugs and working around all types of media, but this one takes the cake. I wished I had waited longer before I bought the Sony Bloggie MHS PM5 to hear others reveiws about this product. Sony rush in too soon on this product to get on the market. My Biggest let down is no support at all with this camera. Still a Sony fan but I'll be getting a Flip

Comments about Sony bloggie MHS-PM5 High Definition Digital Camcorder:
Purchased this for a Mother's Day gift in 2010. Called SONY, to find out if any more accesories were available for purchase. They had none. All this unit came with is a CD Rom, 2 wires, Battery, and an instruction sheet to show how it works. I also noticed that the wire for charging the battery is tiny. I had to go purchase a 6 foot USB wire for the unit to be able to perform charging the battery from my PC. I am wondering if I might want to trade it in. ALSO: (HIGHER NUMBER OF MEGAPIXELS WOULD HAVE BEEN FAVORABLE).

Comments about Sony bloggie MHS-PM5 High Definition Digital Camcorder:
Previous reviewer Rupayan pretty much said it all, and I echo his/her comments. I could not be happier with the camcorder and am astonished that it or upgraded version is no longer available by Sony. I did ding it one star in performance since image stabilization is not available for 1080@30fps or 720@60fps settings. I find that I am using the 720@60fps setting the most since it offers the best, most fluid playback you can imagine. Playback directly to an HDTV is absolutely stunning!

Comments about Sony bloggie MHS-PM5 High Definition Digital Camcorder:
At first I thought this was a terrible purchase. Thing is, I had a really old SD Card, a 512MB unclassified data chip, and the video quality on all levels was pretty poor. BUT I invested in an 8GB class 10 SD card and the quality zoomed way off the charts. This is a definitely good camera for blogging. For intense video recording and directing, not so hot, but of course this is under $200. What a deal. The autofocus is quite annoying, and sometimes takes a while to work, but not as bad as other cameras that I have used. The only fail on the blogging end, is that the camera cannot be left standing on its own with the flip screen open and facing the user, as preferred. What you must do is open the flip, to turn the camera on, and then flip it upside down and back in so that the screen is on the outside of the camera, making it impossible for the user to see themselves. overall, I am happy with my purchase, for blogging purposes, as I already have full use of a professional studio for free. It would be a nice feature to add an on/off button as opposed to turning on and off with the screen being opened/closed

Comments about Sony bloggie MHS-PM5 High Definition Digital Camcorder:
This camera is absolutely great. It shoots in 1920x1080 HD, It has a 5x optical zoom, which immediately puts it way ahead of the Flip camcorders. The pictures are fine, and it makes it almost too easy to use. It turns on as soon as you open it. The screen can rotate 270 degrees allowing you to be almost wherever you want to be when you record. It can be used on any standard tripod. It has the 2.5" screen which has 230k pixels. It accepts Memory Stick Duo / Memory Stick PRO Duo / Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo media and SD/SDHC media. It has face detection and image stabilization. The bloggie itself is easy to hold, and has all the buttons at your fingertips. It has a USB that flips out for easy connection to your computer. It also comes with a small extension cable for the USB so the bloggie doesn't have to be directly attached to the computer or laptop. The camcorder also has a A/V output and a HDMI output. The camcorder includes a cable that connects the bloggie from the A/V output to your TV. The camcorder can be set to record after a time of 2 or 10 seconds, or can be instantaneous. It comes with a DVD for a special PMB software, and the camcorder itself has PMB Mobile software pre-installed, so movies and pictures can be easily transferred to any computer.

Comments about Sony bloggie MHS-PM5 High Definition Digital Camcorder:
I bought this for my daughter for a Christmas gift and she was so excited until we found out it doesn't work for any length of time without a memory card that is NOT included! Why didn't the description and specs mention that? She was so disappointed she couldn't create video with her cousins on Christmas day and I was mad I had to spend more money on her Christmas gift. Why doesn't Sony tell you this on their site BEFORE you buy the camera?

Comments about Sony bloggie MHS-PM5 High Definition Digital Camcorder:
HORRIBLE... I CAN'T BELIEVE SONY MAKE A POOR QUALITY CAMERA LIKE THIS ONE, THEY HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO TO MATCH CANON QUALITY. I KNOW THE SHAPE, STYLE, COMFORT ETC.. ARE OK BUT THE TRUE IS THAT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF ALL THIS IT'S THE QUALITY PICTURES AND VIDEOS AND THOSE TWO ARE HORRIBLE ON THIS CAMERA. THE SCREEN SIZE IT'S GOOD BUT 75% OF IT IT'S FOR DISPLAY INFO AND INDICATORS AND THE OTHER 25% IT'S FOR THE CAMERA VIEW. FOR ME THIS LOOKS LIKE ONE CHINA CHEAP CAMERA WITH THE SONY BRAND ON IT. WASTE OF MONEY AND I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE STORE TO EXCHANGE MAYBE FOR THE FLIP OR OTHER CAMERA ON THE SIMILAR PRICE.
