I love the S480. Outstanding Blu-ray picture and I'm enjoying all the on line features, especially Netflix and HULU. The media remote is awesom! It was easy to set up and works great. The only thing I can't figure out is the Free Curser Remote. When it links to the device, it's not even an option. Thanks Sony for a great product!

Bought this for my mum. It is easy to use and has all the streaming video options you could ever want. It loads up fast and once you complete all the one time setups for the services everything's great. Her Internet router sits under the tv next to this player so lack of wifi is a non issue. Works great with her Sony TV.

functions as expected as a DVD player, great picture. Disappointing that the USB was not included and worse I couldn't use a cheaper model since only Sony's USB works; so an extra $80 for that feature. BDP forgets the wireless WPA key between uses and requires new set-up every time. Can't get caps on screen so have to run downstairs to the router each time. Free trial HULU not worth the price.

•USB Wi-Fi Ready : Yes (UWA-BR100 adapter not supplied) Wish I had read the specs more thoroughly before purchasing a WI-Fi ready and not WI-Fi already built in to it. I had to purchase the above mentioned adapter and it then let me set it up in a few minutes. I also purchased the one with the wi-fi already built in which was cheaper . By purchasing this one Plus the adapter it cost me $40.00 more than if I had bought the one with the built in wi-fi. Please read all the specs before purchasing. I am not saying anything against the product but it would have been cheaper and easier to set up. They both recognized my network with no problems. I specifically wanted these dvd players to use my netflix account on all my tv's even though some of my tv's are still analog.

I am electronics challenged so understanding the instructions was my first hurdle to cross. Understanding all the buttons on the remote is still baffling me. It is a very nice unit and plays the DVD's very well. My teenage grandkids can walk their way through all of this like it's a cakewalk.

This is a great product, I have got four of this model 3 as gifts for my children and there is not any problems with this unit. If others wanted wireless built in they could simply purchased a product that has it built in and should not make it an issue with this device, I stand behind my words they our my bond, few these day care how they use words. If you want a great Blu-ray player this unit is for you, if you want wireless conectivity I would suggest a model or two higher. Your Friend Matthew

Good overall BD player .. responds to 3D content aptly and plays numerous formats other brands won't - That is extremely important to me. All My audio / video equip is Sony connected via HDMI as well as 2 computers and the experience overall, is good.

I love streaming Netflix and Pandora through my player (I actually have the BDP-BX37, which isn't listed here). I get Blu-rays through Netflix, but frankly I just stream stuff much more often. Now I'm hooked on the new HBO GO service, and I want to watch through the BDP. Any chance of HBO GO in the next firmware update?

If you want to add Home network and video streaming features to your existing TV. You can simply get this BR player to do the job. The video streaming works fine. The menu is very easy to use, network connection setup is simple(ie we use LAN port, not wireless). You will need to plug in a flash drive on the back of the USB port to use BD Live. The Home network feature can only play video format of mpg or some Dvix format. You are better off to use a 3rd party DLNA media player (ie WD Live Player) to play all your video files from your home network. The internet browser is not a full feature one, it cannot display 100% all the site on the internet. If a site needs flash player plug-in, or silberlight plugin, it will not work.
In general, it is a good blue ray disk player, if you are not into the new features, it could be wiser to buy an earlier model to save on the cost.

I just wanted to let Sony very aware of the Netflix issue.
Also, where is the Live Sports?
Remote response pretty slow
