Easy setting up the blu-ray player. Fast reliable wifi connection and fast playing the blu-ray DVD.Instant Netflix play in blu-ray. If you have $8.99 netflix account, you get unlimited instant play of the movies that you put in your account. I placed 20 movies that I liked and played in less than 10 seconds. This is the best DVD, blu-ray player I ever had. I will recommand this to everyone. Definately worth spending [$]. A++++ product. I tried other brand such as Panasonic, Toshiba, and Sony and they are no good. The other reliable brand is LG.

This is my first Blueray player I bought. I purchased along a 40 inches Samsung LED TV Series 6000 mostly because my old multi region DVD player broke and to upgrade my HT to HD. So a broke DVD player drove me to make this purchase. I have DVD collection with region 1 & 4 mostly. My big disappointment is that Samsung does not offer a Multi region DVD, nor a paid upgrade or something to make it multi region. Region discs is something of the past. I'm sure I can copy my DVDs to a region free DVD but I would prefer to pay Samsung for an upgrade and use the original DVDs on the player. My first impression was that the Blueray was not as good as my TV to reproduce media from files. The first firmware it has was not able to play mkv files, but when it was able to do it the TV still outpaced the Blueray. Also some DVD movies where not up converted right (Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix). Last firmware update (2.05) seems to improve DVD playback on the movie mentioned earlier. I have not tested mkv files side by side with the TV but I think from what I saw that they were improved as well, however it's not able to decode subtitles yet. Not the TV :( The TV has a much better user interface than the Blueray. It is strange how the same company has so different user interfaces. As an example: The file browsing. The TV has multiple ways to search for a file i.e. by creation time, alphabetical in a multi-layer interface i.e. Top layer from A to Z so you can jump for different letters quickly. I was able to connect the Blueray with my network disk (Western Digital My Book World Edition) with not much of a problem, a better user interface will be better though. You need to do the connection every time you want to use your networked disk, the not to bad news is that the player store the settings unless a Firmware upgrade erase it. As long as Firmwares keep adding good things is a good trade/benefit ratio. I'm able to see all my digital media from the Blueray. MP3 files can be played, however it is not easy to browse for them. Playlilst can not be saved so MP3 playback. It seems that this feature was included only to check the mark on that, but useless use when you have a 2000+ MP3 files. It comes with the WiFi USB adapter, however I preferred to connect via wire to my router in order to have a better bandwidth for streaming video. The good news is that it could be better and the things that can be better are software things that can be modified in the next firmware. So I might upgrade my review in the future. On the hardware side I think is the best choice. Samsung: If you think that modifying the software implies cost. Sell the upgrades! (of course with a 15 days trial to evaluate if it's worthwhile for the end user).

    Worst Entertainment Purchase Ever

    By Fourislanders

    Comments about Samsung BD-P3600:

Nothing but problems. DVDs skip and the unit fails during use. I have sent it back with little success. The wireless works poorly also, it has to reload constantly while watching a show from any source. Do not buy this unit. I just want to get rid of this product.

    Player freezes up too often

    By ubeenbounced

    Comments about Samsung BD-P3600:

I purchased this player around Xmas 09 and have been generally happy with it. I really enjoy the Netflix and Pandora options, although this is as much because of Netflix and Pandora as it is the Samsung player. It has worked fairly well but I have had intermittent problems with the player freezing up during the initial load of discs and also intermittent problems with the player not responding to commands from the remote. I have kept the firmware up to date and I don't believe the fix is related solely to the firmware so I don't think the player will ever function correctly. I am going to buy a new player, most likely not from Samsung, and try my luck.

    Comments about Samsung BD-P3600:

For the most part this is a good player. The picture and sound are definitely excellent. Love having the Netflix streaming and wireless capabilities. I agree with other users that the player does lock up periodically and it is annoying. Overall a good product but I believe that Samsung could have done better.

    Comments about Samsung BD-P3600:

BD-P3600A is connected to Samsung 58" Plasma and I am very pleased with the interaction between TV and BluRay. Wireless N works fine. Originally I was very happy with the unit, but, have now had a lot of problems with the player freezing up. Latest is that It will not play some of the disks. This week, it would not play four different disks. I have spent hours going over online help manuals, talking with support and resetting the unit. It freezes and locks up . Takes a long time to startup and react to commands. I have learned to only push a button once and then to wait and hope the unit reacts. Suppport has been good, but tells me that a new Firmware update may not be out for months. Meanwhile, in a weeks time, I have four disks that will not play. Big problem is that I don't know if the player is going bad or if the latest Firmware update was bad and if it will ever be fixed. Not knowing if my next disk will work is very frustrating. No way that I could recommend the BD-P3600A to anyone. I got the unit in Nov.2009 so my labor warranty is expired and maybe the Parts Warranty will expire. Loved it when it was working right. Now,sorry that I bought it.
