We have 3 kids in College and are all still living at home (yikes!). Since the school year was coming I decided to get a good printer that would be able to handle all of their papers as well as my wife’s scrapbooking stuff as well as being able to send faxes that I need to send my clients. Half way into the semester and this machine is just rolling along! We are all very impressed with the color quality as well as how fast the machine is! I never would have thought that this little machine can do so much and be able to function properly for this amount of time and what we put it through! Although setting it up was a challenge we highly recommend this.

I actually find this is a really good printer for a home office, especially if you are still using XP. I have a small home network and the printer is a part of that network. We have had really good success with all of its multi-function features and we have had no issues with software for faxing not working correctly, which is a problem we've had in the past. It is a good product for a home office for sure.

I did have some difficulty getting the printer to work with the laptop, because, during installation, all firewalls had to turn off; Dell had two. You have to do a thorough research for installation. Getting the Macs to identify the printer was a spur of the moment, though part of the trouble was with Dell putting two firewalls on the system. After the initial hassle with the PC, the rest is very much ok, and I’m happy to have 3055 since all functions are superb -- with a slight caveat below. The half-tone copies weren't the finest ones. The photos appear a bit darker. Modifying the default setting from text to photos is helpful, though I haven't tried that yet that’s why I think it’s not an issue.
