I needed a wireless printer, so I decided on a Epson WP-4540. . I looked at the WP-4530, and the 4540 has the same footprint, just taller because of the extra paper tray. Easy to set up (I have windows 7 professional on both my laptop and desktop). Do download the new drivers from Epson before installation. I selected the Epson over all of the other brands because of my experience with Epson photo printers (3), that I have. I think the only problem that I had was finding a spot for the printer. It is big. I sure would like it if Epson would put the regular full size cartridges in it, instead of the starters. I would highly recommend using a 24 or 28 pound paper, I use 28 pound Hammermill paper for color laser, and do NOT get multiple sheets fed out of the paper tray with this paper. Get quality paper, it works. Overall, I like the printer. I don't need the fax function, but all the other functions perform as advertised.

The quality of print on plain copy paper is not good. The red looks more like orange and the colors look washed out. On business gloss the colors are better but many graphics are smeared. Duplexing causes a real mess. No amount of adjusting the color match, density or drying time fixes the problems. It does print very well on Kromecoat C1 stock. If you don't mind the washed out colors, it is very cost effective and easy to use. The fax and scan features work well.

We bought this to replace an older Epson All-In-One because of the features, such as Wireless printing, Epson Connect, and others. The machine was easy to setup and now we can print from anywhere, from my laptop and phones. Overall a great value for the money and enjoy all the great features.

I have had this printer for about a week. It prints and copies very fast and accurate. Looks like the orginals. It has two paper trays and also loads in the back. I like the touch srceen its big and easy to use. I would recomend this printer for home or home office.

The printer is compact, and works well. The envelope printer is easy to use. The drawback of this machine is the scanner takes a long time to scan a single page. Prints and copies 2-sided, that's a nice feature.

bought printer because Leo Laporte the tech guy, said it is a good one. Setup did go great,easy to do and it printed great. But now a few months later the blue or cyan color no longer works, didn't even finish original cartridge. Have bought replacement cartridge but still doesn't work. so now i got a printer that prints black ,yellow and red and have checked internet and noticed i am not only one with this problem. kind of disappointed in it

Very good document quality. Great and efficient use of ink. cost per page is excelent. Only drawback is with printing photos on photo paper. Image is not sharp and colors are dull....may need a special cartridge or paper?

Combination Product That Delivers On It's Promises

This is my 3rd combination product (printer/fax/scanner/copier). This is my first EPSON. My previous purchases (not EPSON) were more or less OK at each of the functions but you really got the idea that there were compromises to be made for various functions in order to get them all on board. That has not been my experience with the WP-4540. I use all of the functions and each works VERY well. This is the center piece of my one man business/office equipment. I even print to it from my iPHONE. I have recommended it to friends and business associates. I am very glad I made this particular purchase.

Maybe expecting too much!

This was the most expensive home printer I have ever purchased. So maybe I was expecting more out of it than my others. There is a spooling problem, the use of the back tray for certain papers and other features that are sluggish. I have to wake the printer up! LOL No joke..........on the second try it works great! Overall printing is superb! Color photos great and the speed is wonderful. Would I recommend..............YES! Overall a nice printer:)

I chose the WP-4540 because of the 3 paper feed areas. Plain paper in tray 1, letterhead in tray 2, envelopes in the slot in the back. I can select the feed I want from the print driver. No snags on setup and so far every feature performs as advertised. I like using the scan software that came with it also. This is my first Epson so I'll have to get back with you in about 10 years to remark on longevity.
