We use the Canon MF8450c for scanning more than printing and copying. (The best way to have a paperless office.)

The printer works great! The printer produces very good quality prints in color and/or black.

The ADF works well if the documents are like new. If they have staple holes (not staples), bends or creases, they may jam the feeder. Once the feeder jams, you have to start over. It doesn't keep what has already been fed in memory.

Scanning is tedious. You have to set the location and type of scan EACH time you start a scan. You can't just hit the START button or a SCAN button, and get it to scan. There is also no way to set up one default scan setting that would be used unless you choose to change it. To scan, you first hit 3 buttons to tell it to SCAN. Then, a minimum of 5 buttons to tell it WHERE to send the scan (ONLY if you've set up One-Touch locations, MANY more buttons if you haven't). Then, another 6 buttons to scan to high quality color PDF, and another 8 buttons if you have 2-sided originals. If you are happy with B/W tiff scans from one-sided originals, you don't have to hit 13 buttons.

For our use, this was not the best choice. There are far too many steps required to scan a document. If I had a 30-day satisfaction guarantee and my husband hadn't destroyed the box, I would return it.

Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was extremely fast, and the product arrived in perfect condition. It ships on a palette, and has a box that can lift off easily after you cut the straps. You don't have to destroy the box to get to the machine.

Good printer! Works well and fast. I'm a bit concerned about the risk of damaging the document transport belt when opening the front door to mess with the toner cartridges. I think this could have been designed better. The owner's manual tells the user to cover the belt with sheets of paper to ensure that nothing damages it. Additionally, I think the price is a bit high on this unit. Otherwise, the printer is working well!
